[New type of race] Formula drift

Hello everyone, i was thinking about new alternative of drift races, formula drift (it can be renamed i dont care) can be fun.
In this race everyone got his drift handling and instead of getting the biggest drift score as possible the objective is to finish first thanks to drifts. So instead of that sliding trying to get every single point it can be more action drifting trough corners as fast as possible, you can see that type of race on real life races or in tokyo drift movie.
I know that every car isnt fast enought in drifts, so that type of race can be just for C,B or A class, but i hope its possible to make every car relatively fast drifting thanks to dyno tuning.
That race can be located on every drift map available so far + on URL tracks
My own icon for the race type, the text is not the right font and its not in right position, i quess that somebody from NFS:SA team can do little changes

So, in shortcut, you mean normal sprint/circuit race but with drift (slidy) handling?

Actually, this was something I had thought of before. I kinda made up a game mode for myself in NFSC where I try to make the best time around a drift track.
Of course, unfortunately I don't have opponents in those, but I sure wish I had!
In my eyes, I think you should get a penalty for each wall tap. For me, it adds to the challenge.

Yeah, exactly, I mean every circuit/sprint/street-x/URL which gonna fit good for drift handling. I cant test this type of race but it can be cool, isnt it ?

Yeah, you gonna race on track with other, and every tap to wall can mean something like 3 second penalty, and then there can be some time limit which mean you need to do good drift (maybe 500 or 1 000 points ?) every 7 seconds for example (or at every turn), no drifting means another penalty, because i already see a lot of players trying to drive grippy on drift race.
So in the end it depends on race time, you can finish first but with X seconds penalty but you losed
https://youtu.be/iuJDhFRDx9M i wish that race can look something like that, everybody drifts, but they wants to finish first

A penalty for "not drifting" might become a real problem for tracks with longer straights and slow cars, while not necessarily stopping players of playing in the not intended way, so, I'm against that.
Instead, you just gotta make sure drifting is a faster solution of going around a track than gripping, which, in case of that NFSC clip, it is by a large margin.

That penalty is not necessary, but drifting needs to be faster than grippy going around, it maybe actually is, or someone can make changes in handling to make drifting faster, if its possible

This gamemode wouldn't be competitive.
FWD and AWD cars are much faster with drift handling than RWD cars.
Too unbalanced gamemode which is not very possible to balance it any proper way.

I don't see how's that a problem, but, no one is making you do anything.
That's the same thing as saying "We can't have drift because RWD and AWD cars are much better at it than FWD"... I mean, duh, we just choose others cars because we already know some cars are simply shit. Buggy ain't even good at anything at all right now.
If you don't wanna do it, simply say that, and, at least for me, I don't need any justification why.
