Balance multiplayer race rewards (hotfix included)

Easy hot fix version:
1st = 125% rewards (its 100% now)
2nd = 100% rewards (its 75% now)
3rd = 75% rewards (its 50% now)
4th = 50% rewards (its 25% now)

In URL the 8th will have 50%, the 1st will have 125% and middlemen will get their rewards scaled accordingly (same ratio as in 4 player races)

Sophisticated version:
Give players decent rewards for completing multiplayer races based on race length or some other objective measurement of effort and then add to/multiply the rewards of those, who finish better (each position closer to 1st has better reward than the previous one, 1st position gets the best rewards) so players get motivated to try their best, but can still buy what they want/need relatively easily even if they fail.

Example (real values need to be input by the devs after analysis):
1st = base reward + 60 %
2nd = base reward + 40 %
3rd = base reward + 20 %
4th = base reward + 0 %
Base reward can be for example 500 RP and 500 cash for 10 laps of 0.9km long circuit (again just an example so we can do the maths).
For URLs the 8th will get base reward + 0% and others get more % in similar fashion.

The goal is to allow players to buy something after 2 races if they lose, or after 1.5 races if they are second/third and in 1 race if they win. Or something like that. Currently it takes the losers much more time to grind than not-losers.

Original post:
I dont know how exactly the reward system works, but Ive noticed that when I dont finish in a good position, or even finish last, the race rewards are ridiculously small. I even lost URL two days ago, and for all my effort during a 20 minute marathon all I got was 98 RP and cash. This can easily discourage anyone from playing multiplayer races, and especially the long ones and URLs, because it can all turn out to be a huge waste of time.

I suggest to have rewards based on the track length/race duration or something like that, which should be a decent reward for everyone, including the last racer. Then, add a multiplier to the rewards of the winner, second, third etc. so the better your position the better your reward. This way good racers will still get the best rewards, but at the same time the not-so-lucky racers will also have a good time and enjoy the game instead of throwing their keyboard out of the window.

I was suggesting reward increase for loosers multiple times. But this is to hard for devs to change it (Cuz they are ignoring it).
1St place 100%
2ND 75%
3rd 50%
4th 25%

For me last player should get 50%
But to change it devs need to change almost whole reward system to aviod solo grinding

I have this idea for URL rewards quite some time ago in the past, but no. bartek replied with:

We can have regular race rewards a bit higher than we have currently though. We are running low in playerbase and all the newbies can do is just finishing last on races being beaten by veterans.

I'd rather use the system where you'd unlock new cars by simply participating in races, regardless of what class you race with/against and/or if you win or lose. The more races you do, the faster you will unlock new stuff. No RP needed at all. Using this system would solve the grinding problem.

A lot of stats in this game are simply unnecessary or useless anyways, they don't tell you much about the particular player. Win ratio goes as example. Same goes for duels, people mostly do these just to build the RP or unlock Vinyl Points (daily task), not to compete. Right now, there are new bloods who joins the community and can't find a match to play against. Because everyone and their uncle already have a fucking Infernus unlocked and just can't be bothered to switch to a stock manana in order to make it fair for the newb. I'd rather pick this system over the one we have right now because it's more player-friendly and with it they won't need to worry about winning or losing. Basically, you're just playing the game and not continuously looking for a match, hoping you'd find a player with an equal car score.

Maybe I'm wrong and I don't understand something crucial, but I think the new system would improve the game for everyone. People would be just playing, going for top times and PBs, instead of focusing on irrelevant shit.

Yeah, 50%, 75%, 100% and 125% seems more reasonable. As for solo grindning I have no idea what you mean. And even if it was possible somehow, I bet players are doing that BECAUSE they get shitty rewards in MP. As long as any MP match (even a lost one) pays more than any SP match, players will not solo grind. There can also be an additional protection against AFKers, that would only give the new, good rewards to losers who actually finish the race.

@tekk

First of all, youre completely forgetting about money. What use is an unlocked car for you if you cant buy it? Besides, griding gives a game a sense/filling, without grind it would get boring pretty soon as there would be nothing to explore/improve. That said, griding needs to be acceptable for veterans and newbies alike, not extremely hardcore.

Also it seems to me youre trying to fix a different problem than me, and that problem can also be fixed by reducing the amount of classes/car scores until the community grows larger. Its just nonsense to have so many variables when you cant even find URL matches except for prime time. But again, thats something different than what Im trying for here.

we can always make reward system much simpler... just give to all participans same reward for compliting race... [as the crew do]. Just use number of players active in race as a multiplayer to avoid sologrinding

Or just give the winner better reward by ~20% and other participans will get same reward
1st 120-150%
2nd 100%
3rd 100%
4th 100%.

Cuz winner is only one Big Grin

well and class rp requirements are to low... Big Grin

Yes, giving decent reward for completion is exactly what I was suggesting in the main post. As for the place-dependant rewards, I would definitely give better rewards for better places, its not cool to give 2nd and 3rd the same reward as the 4th or even 8th. With my suggestion everyone will be happy and the better you are the happier you will be Smile

i was talking about standard races... in URL races i think it should be able to add "reward for participation" as minimum u can get + reward from points. even if there will be afk farm players it is still better than not playing url at all Big Grin if now we have ~1200,1500 rp from standard url for 1st place... reduce reward per point and add 300-400 rp of participation reward for everyone.
Eg.: [i know there is also distance and general reward multiplayer, but i will ignore it]
Before changes [1p=50rp]
24p = 1200rp
23p = 1150rp
22p = 1100rp
20p = 1000rp
15p = 750rp
10p = 500rp
5p = 250rp [well i never was last so im not sure about this XD]
0p = 0rp

After [Participant reward + 1p ~= 37.5]
24p = 1200rp
23p = 1163rp
22p = 1125rp
20p = 1050rp
15p = 863rp
10p = 675rp
5p = 487rp
0p = 300rp

somtehing like that

Ofc participant reward will also be multiplayed by distance but not by event multiplayer. Big Grin

I'm not a noob, but, I'm so bad at racing I could almost be classified one.
Obviously, racing doesn't give me shit. What I end up doing is just do a time trial, a magazine run and I'm done for the day. I can also do the daily if it's something achievable like "10 perfect shift" or "500k drift points", but if it's "Win 4 races" I don't even try unless I intend to play for several hours.
Racing I just do it purely for fun.
The activity that gave me the biggest boost ingame was when I was doing the daily diamond hunt, it was more RP and $ than I could ever win doing anything else.
So, yes, I solo grind and I'm not even ashamed of it. Boost the rewards for racing and surely I'll change my ways, just as long as you don't make the other activities reward you less, otherwise I'll just give up playing, period. It's already almost impossible to have money to buy things in this game without spending your whole life in it. I take literally months to farm enough money to buy a car, and it's definitely not by racing.

Well to tell the truth, Im not a bad racer by any means, more like mediocre, but guess what? After a few days of this game all Im doing is time trials (and buying new keyboards as I smash them after failing), diamonds, dailies and sometimes URL (higher chance of not being last and good rewards if youre not). I can win races, and I win (or not lose) about 50 % of them, but its all just so random like a roulette or a slot machine and Im sick and tired of it. I want to get paid for my effort and advance in the game. I really feel like im in a casino, loading a slot machine and hoping one day I hit the jackpot and get something back. This "everything or nothing" is getting on my nerves.

Oh and lets not forget about pursuits, Ive just done one 8 minute long with some cars destroyed and stuff, and I got the "losers" reward eventhough I won. Would be better to boost pursuits rewards and add cooldown so you can only make X pursuit per hour instead.

I understand that some people "play for fun" or I dont know what, but I am unable to have any fun in game that doesnt let me progress. And its all the more frustrating when the server is so awesomely made and then you see this reward BS everywhere.
