Futo; Hatch, Trueno?

We all know the Futo is loved by everyone. It's small, nimble and with it's smooth looking design, there's no mistake in buying it. Now, some (or maybe a lot) of people are bummed that it's a coupe in NFSSA. That CAN change, but it's very tricky.

I found a "Hakumai Futo" mod for GTA4 which pretty much takes the Futo, modifies ONLY the rear window/trunk to make it into a hatch.
This is a quick gif comparing an original GTA 4 Futo ripped from the game with the GTA 4 Hakumai Futo mod

The modelers all probably know that converting the car/parts wouldn't be the problem, but making them match could be a challenge (especially the UV mapping). Now, I wouldn't really suggest this but since it's one of the most popular cars (next to Bullet) I thought why not.

Another thing the Hakumai mod has is pop up headlights. Sadly, the front is way disfigured and doesn't perfectly line up with the OG Futo, but it would requite a bit of adjusting (or just hacking up the pop ups to fit onto regular Futo's nose) since the wheel arches match up pretty well.

And finally, as the ultimate, hardest request: a decent model. The one we have now is a much more trimmed version of the original and we know it. All the decals are removed, all the badges, everything. It looks kinda naked and some of the meshes are really sketchy and vinyls don't work that well.
I know it's to increase performance for people, but even the original Futo isn't big in size. If people lag now in Doherty, a half a mb bigger file won't make a difference, honestly.

I wish such an option since many months as well, I really hope Arunn could do this, if other team members don't have anything against it. Because it's changing quite a lot on Futo, but on the other side we have roof option for Banshee and Comet, which make the cars look more realistic like Viper and Porsche. So why not a Futo roof option that turns it into a hatchback / makes it look more like the Trueno?

Headlights would need to be permanently open and the reflectors on the same position as originals to avoid problem with light dummies

Also I'd see possibility to do Trueno coupe and Levin hatchback, and if we speak about different lights option: What about Fortune with 240SX front resulting in Onevia-like creature? Big Grin

It seems like a simple idea because a lot lines up with the original Futo like the whole doors, interior, most of the wheel arches/fenders BUT the hatch merges into the back quarterpanel and that would requier a lot of poly making/patching to make it look decent, so it could take a lot of time to make it look decent or it might not, who knows. But like I said, Futo is one of those cars that I see everywhere and everyone loves it so I think it kind of deserves it and it is unique (almost everyone wants to find at least the Futo parts)

As for the lights: Yes, either that, replacing it with ZR which already has that misc for it's lights (can't be done because ZR is an actual car atm) or running some custom script. I saw a guy make an "extra doors" script which is cleo sadly but you could determine which angle and speed you want things to open at. I'm unsure if this can be done in an MTA scripts tho cuz I ain't a scripter.

Saw a Fortune yesterday that was a Sil80 tho. It'ssomething

It's not that easy, futo, just like the other cars, uses one bonnet_ok, so it automatically disqualifies pop-ups. Converting it to the hatch is possible, ofc, but it would rather exist as a widebody kit. Thus we've came to the conclusion, that this won't be an option in the near future.
