► deadboys suggestions - Vol. 1 (NFSU2 and Server)

I made a little list since i started to play here. It contains many suggestions that are useful or just enriching in lovely details about NFS.

I wasn't sure how to sort them in better way and look, starting with NFS Underground 2 similar suggestions.
- Nitro fills up - by doing burnouts, power slides and having airtime. (It was like that in UG2, and i bet it's possible to script.) - It would be amazingly useful in freerun for stunting, and duels would get a bit more challenging
- Nitrous Purge - it's possible and easily to script. Let's take a look at the source code of a similar Cleo-script with that idea: xxx  (declined / impossible)
- Shader on Rims - in U2 there was only a powder coat on the rims, but it would be dope if we also could change the shader of it. (default, gloss, metallic, matte, absorbent, pearlecsent) - matte car with default rim shader sucks
- Colorable Brakes - add visible brakes and let us recolor them, because some rims make these old low quality GTA brakes visible, which aren't special or something. (I hope it's possible to script :s)
- Enable NPC Traffic - let us choose when creating a race, if we want to enable traffic. Also let the admins change traffic-rate in freerun.  (impossible)
- Mirror Vinyls - some vinyls, like number digits, are in wrong order at the other side of your car, so add the option to mirror the vinyls. (you know what i mean, no example needed)
- Bought Car-Parts remain in garage - make carparts remain after buying, re-buying because of fails or changing setup sucks hardly. (done)
- Rotate Car in Garage and Tuning-Shop - one side of a car looks darker because of the light, would be cool to rotate the car (instead / together with camera), to check out every side (done)
- Zoom in Tuning-Shop - sometimes it would be good to take a look at the car from more distance. Would be cool to zoom out while choosing rims or bumpers. (done)
- Fade-out GUI - Let the gui and menu fade out when rotating the camera or car in garage and tuning shop. (to have a better look at your car while tuning - only fade out as long u hold the button)

Next category, Server & Race related suggestions.
- FPS Counter - please add a fps-counter in the settings menu (F11). It's useful when you want to turn graphics higher but check the amount of fps for race. (done)
- Soft Lanterns in Freerun - in some races the lanterns are "soft" when you hit or destroy them with much speed. Please add this for freerun too. (impossible)
- Description of Task - after completing a task, it gives a message with the name of the task in chat, wondering what I had to reach in that task then, please add a line with the description. (done: screen)
- Destructive torch - at the finish line there are burning torches. Make them destroyable or remove collision. Sometimes you lose a race or time trial because you hit it at the end. (done)
- Edit Anti-Spam Script - if you want to chat a little bit in freerun, but the anti-spam kicks your ass (My idea: Let each message get sent, but also give the anti-spam warnings. After the 5th or 6th message give auto-mute for 5 minutes by console)
- Ghostmode in Freerun - Make the admins toggle the ghostmode for freerun. (some players are raging sometimes and ram you without a breake. Also useful when stunting) (declined)
- More Stats at Race-Endscreen - After each Race you should be able to check different stats of each player. (more detailed explanation) (like each Players earned RP and Money (with bonuses), highest drift combo, lost drift score, max speed, etc.)
Block Invites - there is the command to ignore pms, which also have the function to block crew invites. But it would be better to have both separated. (to let the user send you pms but no invites)
- More light in Drift and Street-X - add some lanterns or floodlights outside of the tracks in drift and street x (Airport tracks), so there's more light and the track wont be that dark. (would make some nice graphical accents)
- Progress and Rewards - put the cars with maxed out EP-bar at the bottom, because unlike the new cars you bought you don't have to check them all time to see when you hit the next red bar. (done)

Nitro fills up - no
Nitrous Purge - not necessary
Shader on Rims - Good idea
Colorable Brakes - impossible?
Enable NPC Traffic = less FPS; annoying
Mirror Vinyls - would be nice if possible
Bought Car-Parts remain in garage - it's a part of DYNO tuning
Rotate Car in Garage and Tuning-Shop - not necessary
Zoom in Tuning-Shop - why not?
Fade-out GUI - not necessary
FPS Counter - check FPS using Tab on freerun
Soft Lanterns in Freerun - sounds good for freerun duels
Description of Task - not necessary
Destructive torch - definitely no, it's part of the race
Edit Anti-Spam Script - anti spam is annoying sometimes
Ghostmode in Freerun - I heard rumors this will came next update
More Stats at Race-End - yuo can see best laptime of other players already, enything else seems unnecessary
Block Invites - not necessary, until everyone wants to invitwe you
More light in Drift and Street-X - it's bright enough I think, maybe it's your screen/MTA settings problem
Progress and Rewards - not necessary, play for fun, not for max the car only

I think that majority of suggestions are cool, but I quite disagree with some:
-description of the task (doesn't really bother me, for example)
-enable NPC traffic (brings either huge load on server, or on client. Although I personally do use this script everywhere I can. Maybe make it client-side OPTION which can be enabled or disabled?)
-ghostmode in freerun (nah, just nah)

Nitro fills up - Why not? The only argument against it would be that some people who drift the curves in a rave have more nitro than people who drive clean.. To avoid that I would suggest making the bonus nitrous you get in race less than in free run, so a little drift will slow you down than giving advantage. Don't know any other reasons. Nitro in Freerun is fun.
Nitrous Purge - would be nice for show off at tuning meetings, for idling, magazine cover, nice race start-atmosphere and so on. It would just be the cherry on top of an nice nostalgic Underground 2 feeling.
Enable NPC Traffic - well it shouldn't be heavy traffic like in China. Just a few cars and trucks there and here would be enough. That can't take so much fps. And another suggestion to save some fps anyway: replace the models of those cars that should be driven by NPCs with very low-poly models, just like it's in the NFS games.
Bought Car-Parts remain in garage - well main thing of Dyno would be to optimize the setup of your car to get some advantages and disadvantages in some parts of a race (correct me if I'm wrong, rarely used Dyno-tuning in UG2)
Rotate Car in Garage and Tuning-Shop - well, at least in tuning-shop, as I wrote it is important to check vinyls and colors on both sides, sometimes it just don't look good when you leave the shop and drive into some light / lantern.
Fade-out Gui - well true, not really necessary, but it would be 1 or 2 lines of script, so why not.
FPS-Counter - thanks tho, I didn't saw that on top of the player list.
Description of Task - why just collecting task points without knowing what you just did or what was the task actually. It's literally one line of scripting, and it's just an information.
Destructive torch - at least in time-trial, because it really sucks to lose the race on hard just by one second that was caused by that illogically indestructible torch.
More Stats at Race-End - it's just information that no one would hurt. It's better than asking someone in chat how much he got. And again this is made within a few minutes, it's not something that will keep the progress of bigger updates back.
Block Invites - Sometimes newbies that just created a crew invite you plenty of times into your crew, because they need these 4 members. So why not blocking these invites without ignoring his PMs - even worse if you PM him and he can't reply because you ignore his.
More light in Drift and Street-X - well it's not mainly for more light, it would just give some more accents to the map. Check out how much better this looks. And for the airport tracks some floodlights would be nice too. /// Edit: I'm blind af, there are already lantern at docks. Well then just some light at airport pls.

Well of course not every suggestion is really useful for every player. Most people just want these task points and don't care about the actual task.
About the NPC traffic, well it shouldn't be many cars, maybe to reduce the load (at least in race) they could add these cars into the race (like on beach front) but with a little script that makes those cars driving a route, because the point it to add more difficulty to the races.
And the ghostmode, well yea, I wouldn't like it neither if it's gonna stay all the time with ghostmode, but even here I got a little solution: make the ghostmode only enableable by admins, but only for certain time. Example: Bartek comes online, does enable ghostmode in freerun because some people wish, or he some event in freerun is happening, then he goes offline -> ghostmode stays enabled: not good. But if the admins can choose how long it should be enabled (minimum 5 min, max 1 hour) so it can get deactivated automatically and admins don't have to check all the time.
