Who the heck even ever censored a kid's dick in a cartoon?...
Actually, nevermind. There are some countries with weird taboos. The English dubs of basically every Japanese cartoon are always completely butchered because of crap they censored or changed. Those people must have some perverted complexes or a very unhappy sexual life, I don't even know. Lets just call it "cultural differences" to be nice...
The direction they took shows like Shin Chan kinda gives it off. The US dub went full adult cartoon, while in Europe it was just another kids cartoon, highly popular too because of the merchandise. Shin Chan is basically a cartoon about a kid lowering his pants everywhere and sticking objects in his butt that even I as a kid found unappealing.
Doraemon, a favorite of mine, is another example. The US dub is so butchered and altered I can't even enjoy it. There's no kid-like wacky humor anymore, no "my clothes are gone, lets sneak back home" scenes, no peeking at girls when they are at the bath (no bathroom scenes at all, actually), no Terminator-like guns everywhere total maniac scenes from Doraemon himself... Err... The only aspect I thought Doreamon should have gotten censored in is with the gun related stuff. They have scenes where they basically play with handguns and point them at each other or at their own heads that really has potential to become a real danger for younger kids. That for me is a red flag. Now, things like nudity and that infantile humor (that only adults are able to pervert), they really should not be made a taboo of, that actually damages a child's education. Everyone from this side of Europe thinks like that (Portugal, Spain, France...), so we really don't give a crap about nudity on TV, comics or whatever. Damn, if I want to see naked children I just have to go to the beach, there's a bunch of them there, and if I walk a little further I can even see the naked parents too! How would an American mom deal with that, would she take her children to the beach all wearing a blindfold? lol
